LITERARY INTERPRETATION – FROM CINDIA
THEME IN THE NOVEL: CREATIVITY
It is within an instant that a spark can lead to chaos and creativity. The hand of the priest, color pigments fly, and pilgrims await in anticipation for that ecstatic moment. It is sometimes within those unruly layers where the beauty lies and magic happens – if you are open to it. Ishan’s world is riddled with sublime culinary creativity but also chaos. A swirl, a mix, another attempt, and the magic is always there in the process. His ambition, however, and maddening envy do not let him see it.
ARTIST’S INTERPRETATION OF RADHA RAMAN EXSTASY
A special place
On every trip to India I visit the family of this temple, which is over 500 years old. Over time, I have been able to develop a special relationship with both the temple and the people. This very special photo was taken from a balcony inside the temple during the traditional religious festival of Holi. On the edge in the upper left third you can see the priest’s hand with the plate from which the color pigments are thrown onto the pilgrims who are ecstatically anticipating the moment.
Just being human is life
One of the most important aspects of Holi is the dropping of interpersonal barriers, a deeply humanistic approach. Only when class, gender and other differences no longer play a role will a true, honest exchange, the true humanity, become possible. Reservations and purpose give way to loving attention and open listening.
Allow otherwise
They say you can’t learn by talking, but only by listening. But in everyday life we move in our own circles. We “know” what these and those contemporaries “are like”. It’s only outside of things, for example when traveling, at conferences or at family gatherings, that we meet people we’ve never had anything to do with. We can’t put them in a box (yet), we have to listen to them. These are moments in which we can feel how much other perspectives enrich us, if we allow it.
Create your own reset button!
Let us see the explosive shower of colors as the anchor point to reflect. To remember that the differences exist primarily in our heads and that it is particularly good for ourselves to reset our resentments from time to time. Radha Raman Exstasy is a striking work full of positive energy.

André Wagner deals with his camera virtuously and investigates the possibilities of lighting situations. Staging photographs in great detail the young artist creates authentic images that are not digitally manipulated. He succeeds in a remarkable way in perceiving internal and external phenomena of a situation. Standing in the tradition of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, André Wagner sees photography as an ideal means of expression, within he can transfer attitudes and beliefs.
His painterly, poetic photos can be seen as a reinvention of the traditional genres. This is mainly caused by the light-interpretation because Wagner photographs usually by means of long-time exposure and the use of various light sources, causing an interaction of associative thought patterns. Each and every moment seems loaded with content, rising above the purely aesthetic message.
Numerous exhibitions have already taken André Wagner throughout Europe, China, New Zealand, and the United States. He has won several awards for his work and is represented in public collections.
The artist was born in 1980 in Burgstädt (Saxony, East-Germany) and ended his apprenticeship as a photographer in 2001. Since 2004 he has been living in Berlin.
